Are you having pleasure shows anymore?

The Halloween ADT is almost upon us. Entries are open and entries and checks need to be postmarked by October 15th or there will be a $20 late fee, so get your entries mailed to Katie Twohy.

Entry Form found here: whiprsnappers.com/download/halloween-adt-entry-form/

We are hoping to see quite a few people get their 100 year ribbon as part of the The American Driving Society, Inc. (ADS) Centennial Club.

The ADS Centennial Club recognizes carriage drivers and their one equine partner (horse, pony, miniature horse, donkey or mule) whose combined ages total 100 years or more. You may drive a multiple turnout but the age of only one animal may be combined with your age to meet or exceed 100. Horse(s) and driver perform a driven Dressage test of any level at a show (schooling or recognized) or event, and are to be scored by an ADS Judge. More info on the (ADS) Centennial Club found here: americandrivingsociety.org/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=548049&module_id=472865

We welcome you to come and drive a dressage test only, no need to do the full ADT. All you need to do, is complete a dressage test, any test (Training Level test B offered also for the ADT works just fine) without Elimination, so you can even have a groom with you and she/he can read you the test - sure, you get some penalties for the groom talking to you, but who cares, it's NOT a competition where the score counts, all you need to do is complete the test. If you also want to be in the ADT competition, then of course the score does count - but for just the Centennial Club it doesn't. So anybody who wants to just get the Centennial Club, PLEASE come as well - and no pressure.

If you plan to drive a different test than offered in the program (Training Test B, Prelim Test B and Interim Test A) , Please let our Judge, Hardy know a week in advance which test you plan on doing by email (hzlax@aol.com), so that he can prepare for it. He likes to be prepared in advance, as these are all new tests. Thank you.

We will be marking hazards and setting up cones on Wednesday the 20th. Come at ten AM if you can, we also need help on the day of the show, timers, cone setters and hazard judges.

Hope to see you there!

I don't live in Calif. anymore. But I am glad to see this club is still going strong and that the folks at Oak Run Farm are still holding events. Hardy Zantke is a great judge. I have always love watching him drive; he has such wonderful hands. Hope everyone is well. Have a great time at this event.

Another reminder that there will be an ADS sponsored Recreational Driving Weekend in Tehachapi at the Bear Valley Springs equestrian facility this weekend September 18 & 19, 2021. Lots of activities, a driving derby, cones practice and camping is available. Hotels are not far away for those who don't rough it. Check it out on our www.whiprsnappers.com web site or our Facebook page.

Next up is the Halloween Arena Driving Trial on October 23, 2021 with a day of free driving on Sunday. This will be held at Oak Run Farm in Moorpark. We are always looking for exhibitors and volunteers. Hardy Zankte will be our judge and we might be judging costumes on Sunday for the creative and Halloween inclined.

The information you need to enter is on our website as well. Print the flyers and post at your local barn, tack shop or feed store. Let people know that driving is happening in So. Cal.

Will the club be having any carriage pleasure driving shows? I haven't seen one advanced in a few years.
